EXPLAIN THE UNEXPLAINABLE

Famished thoughts of utter resemblance between two souls in different worlds
contradicting ever so reasonable explanations to the unexplainable
Eyes so memorized you recognize, yet so forgotten you remain blind
Fingers so untouched you held, yet so scorned you stayed your hand

Forbidden grounds forever breathed the lonely voices in these controlled realms
compelling ever so trying explanations to the unexplainable
Words so simple to say, yet so complicated to pronounce
Emotions so easy to know, yet so impossible to understand

Deaf music rebelliously chased these two hearts in a single universe
portraying ever so unchallenged explanations to the unexplainable
Songs so innocent were sung, yet seen so guilty the sound echoes tone deaf
Rhythm played for a dance so beautiful, yet used where loves tempo is never heard

Taunting images swing wide their enchanting arms
gasping for air when only memory is seen, only pain is touched,
where words remain unspoken, and feelings remain unknown.
A song understood only by those listening, rather than those trying to hear

Untamed waves clash their innocent tone, rhythm now dances where loves tempo sang
Sudden dreams that pondered the unquenchable desire for an unknown
immediate grasp of knowledge for fools who taste only more questions when sought answers
trapped in this vicious cycle will they finally see. You can’t explain the unexplainable.

A KNIGHTS TALE

if time could mend a broken heart
then to you ill give it all
as seconds pass ill search and fight
for you ill never fall
a heart so hurt a heart so faint
my prize has grown too dim.
the brightest light in loves darkened quest
is your the prize ill win
this knight had armor that used to shine
now black by journeys scorn
no sword has scratched nor javelin pierced
like my maidens touch has torn
lost lovers hand i beseech an audience
grant me a crowd for fame
not for riches or honor but forgiveness as might
just to hear you me, my name.
I rest my sword, lay down my armor
ive been a warrior far too long.
you are the one ive been fighting for
to you ill always belong.
if time could mend a broken heart
id pick up my sword once again
id fight through dragons and fires blaze
till time i could detain.

DEAR DAUGHTER

Dedicated to my friend Julia Patterson who recently lost her daddy.

when you reach for me, i will still hold your hand, when you need me,
i will still keep you. i will still help you.

TONIGHT, I'LL REMEMBER

Tonight, I remember how i'd talk with You til i fell asleep, and when i woke up, You'd still be there.
Tonight, i remember closing my eyes telling You about my problems, and when i opened them You were still listening.
Tonight, i remember how it felt when i found out You knew my problems already, and You stayed with me through everything regardless.
Tonight, i remember fighting to stay awake cause my reality was better than dreams... cause i found out you loved me.
Tonight, i remember how it was when id spend the day with You.. and i remember how it was when i didn't.
Tonight, i remember every day with you seemed to last forever, but it was still never long enough.
Tonight, ill remember how it is when I talk with You, ill remember how You listen.
Tonight, ill remember You know everything about me, ill remember You'll never forsake me for any of it.
Tonight, ill remember You are my reality, ill remember You are my dreams.
Tonight, ill remember to spend every day with You, ill remember to not forget.
Tonight, ill remember how sad i feel that everyday with You isnt enough, but ill remember how forever means eternity.

SHE WAITS

she waits. Among the iniquities of this world fervently trying to turn her. she stays still. remaining a monologue in her faith. the voice of deception is the only thing she hears. yet she continues to listen for a voice so faint it is said to not exist. A voice of truth.
This world puts her upon a pedestal, brings her riches. Her. deserving it all. turns from it remaining faithful to the one thing she needs more, the one thing rewarding her fervency. the only unbreakable promise... Love. among the iniquities of this world. among the voice of deception. among the riches of contempt. among her unbreakable Promise.. she waits..

DREAM WORLD

Flickers of light dance around me as I lie in my bed waiting
for sleep to overcome.
Lights from all the amusement I find during the day whisper
for me to accommodate them, but none of it seems worth
my time, they just sit there adding to the annoyance of another
long night.
The soft howling of wind out side my window entrances
me keeping me awake, glimmers of past memories fill my head
with all the mistakes I’ve made in this life that I’m trying to sleep
away. Positive moments have been forgotten, making me
wonder if there even were any. I remember being happy,
I just don’t remember why.
God, What happened to my dream world?

Yearning to see daylight, I watch the stars hoping to spy them
disappearing, replaced with the joy of a new day, new moments,
new sorrow.. Where did things go wrong, what did I miss,
I thought of each day as a gift in all manor of blessing, I guess
God is done helping me. I guess I’m not worth fixing any more.
God, what happened to my dream world?

Sleepless I lay here, praying for my eyes to close till morning
brings its soft love, I shuffle around my bed trying to find some
place that will make my night gentle, but the comfort never comes.
Longing for a simple dream to take me some where I can escape,
I end up dreading each second more and more.
Restlessly fading as i beg for sleep to tire of tormenting me.
These flickers of light that dance around me are beginning to
mock my constant groaning, their now shouting for my attention,
something to change my focus, something to drown this sorrow,
something to remove thoughts of this torment.
God,..What happened to my dream world?

I need you now more than ever, why does it feel like you left?..
Can you even hear me? I throw my life at your feet, with no where
else to go, you are my only chance of peace, my only place of rest,
God, you are the only one that gave me the joy I long for. The joy
That I lost. You are my only real friend.
Save me from this nightmare I’m living in Lord, bring me close to
your heart, I want to feel how it beats, I want mine to beat the same.
I don’t know all I want, but I do know all I need, and Father.
All I need is you. You are my dream world.

WHAT IS BEAUTY?

What is beauty: the simplest of things that show Love.
Beauty is the most precious treasure you will ever find,
the beauty of a love that is real, the beauty of passion.
the simplest of things that show love.
Beauty is truth, a gift from God, as breath taking as
the sun setting into an ocean, its the simplest of things that
show love.
What is beauty: how the sky grows Grey in sorrow as if
never to have been happy, and yet finds it in its heart
to Smile again. to beam the majestic colors of the rainbow
to not only feel, but to show, the simplest of things
that show love. Why do we look and not gaze, why do we Have
and not hold, why do we seek and not find time to understand, its the
simplest of things that show love.
What is Beauty: Beauty is some thing you hold on to,
something you can never lose, beauty is a Heart which touches
another. What is beauty: Beauty is You, the simplest
of things that shows love.
